Ha! A classic AND relevant to this moment in time:

I'm still trying to process this rationally. Here goes:

The CME, which as per their website claims to be "the world’s leading derivatives marketplace" announces on said website that "Due to a cooling issue at CyrusOne data centers, our other markets are currently halted"

OK fine, despite the resources you would assume CME has to ensure their systems are made redundant proof, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. But how could this happen on one of the quietest trading days of the year (Thanksgiving in USA) and during the quietest time too (this all started at approx 2am EST) ?! Not exactly a time you'd expect a data center to be struggling to manage things!

And it all coincides with silver on the verge of breaking out.

No doubt the 'nothing to see here' messages are being drafted right now. Lets see how this all pans out.

New record silver price overnight! I was expecting the mother of all smack downs once the 'cooling issue' was resolved, but maybe their efforts really are futile 😆

It certainly seems that something is going on in the silver market that is no longer business as usual. There are so many distortions in financial markets now, particularly the seismic issues in Japan, there are plenty of rumours that the large hedge funds and financial management firms are buying into metals now. I would not be surprised if a lot of nervous investors were looking at claiming physical metal.
